The Archaeological Dig 
I’ve read your literature and over and still cannot understand what period of history this hamlet represents. “evacuated in the early fifties” ; “as the fifties reveal their fascinating mysteries” . . . means nothing. 1950s, 1850s, 1750s, 1650s??? I am a history buff and would very much like to participate, but what are we talking about here? Thanks.
We talk about the fifties as it is most commonly used in press, literature etc. So its the 1950’s.
I am last remaining citizen of Tourner-la-Vache… would like free ticket please and maybe free fly over to site. I am in France. Belgium is north of France. They have waffles and fries.

This is a truly remarkable excavation, capturing a time and place that might otherwise be totally forgotten. I took many pictures. I hope the powers that be will allow this excavation to continue for many years to come so that we may eventually get to the bottom of Goverthing. I think this could be a great attraction for tourists and New York City residents for many years. Please don’t turn it into something like a playground or horseshoe pit. I hope to return next year with my whole family to see what is underneath some of the rooftops. If you need some help with the dig I will happily bring my own shovel.
